Kingsherry: I love James Brown. All I need is a movie about Michael Jackson, Elvis and
the Beatles and I can die.
Plot Twist: The boy in 0:17 looks like 8years old Denzel Washington
findvoltage: this is the best bio i have ever seen.
JAMES BROWN your SUPER FUNKY
Dominic Madbull: I watched this movie and i liked alot,i was very surprised for the
performance of the actor whom played JB,great movie
Ashley Burns: Why are you all taking about Michael Jackson? If this was an MJ movie you'd
all be talking about Prince.
Dennis Agra: Fantastic movie, JB changed music history with funk, genius, visionary man
and beyond your time. JB forever.
CodeSBX: Michael Jackson would've loved to watch this movie since James Brown was
basically his biggest inspiration :D
John Hernandez: awesome... they should do one of MJ
Daniel Bailey: Good film...I give it 4/5.
Daniel Mack: Best singer of all time better than mj and great movie
Sandra Frazier: I was blessed to have a speaking part in this movie, and I'm very excited
about this movie. It was an awesome experience being on a live set and all.
A round of applause goes out to Mrs. Tammy Smith and her staff. She is an
awesome woman to work with and for. Please go out and see "Get On Up" it's
a phenomenal movie!!!! Sandra
coporal4: I'm sorry but this needs to be said. Got DAMN some of you assholes complain
about every black movie that has come out recently. You go see ghetto pimp
ass movies, but when something is positive you complain. Blacks complained
about the movie "Color Purple" because of Danny Glovers character,
well incest and crap happened and still is happening in the black
community. I didn't hear NOT one White Person complain about the movie "The
Burning Bed" with Farrah Faucet.. Either support the movie or shut your
UNCLE TOM slivering ass mouths. This movie was a really good movie
about James Brown. The story line was solid and the music was the TRUTH.
You should be giving praise to Chadwick Boseman for his performance instead
of complaining. Some of you didn't see him in the Jackie Robinson story,
because your ignorant ass don't like baseball or you don't know who Jackie
Robinson was? REALLY.. Thank you for making this movie about a black artist
who made a difference. Ray Charles made a difference also and the movie
"RAY" was excellent. Jamie Foxx showed his musical talent and range of
acting 3 fold
PigDestroyer0099: What's the name of the song that start at 2:25, please someone tell me.
Alex G: Get On Up, Director: Tate Taylor, Writers: Jez Butterworth, John-Henry
Butterworth, Stars: Chadwick Boseman, Nelsan Ellis, Dan Aykroyd
Dajanae Roshell: I saw this about a thoands times
senjyman: Amazing!! Perfect movies I love MJ😘😘👍
Audrey Clarke: What a great movie! Get On Up Official Trailer #1 (2014) - James Brow…:
Smexii | FFA Maestro: This is an incredible movie. I really advise you to watch it
Corey Anderson: What's sad is I don't think rappers today will never realize how important
James Brown was to rap and hip-hip. James Brown was the most sampled artist
in music history and never got paid for all his samplings. Not one dime
from the major labels. In the history of rap there has only been two
rappers who personally cut James Brown a check for his music -M.C. Hammer
and Too Short
Omaro Johnson: I cant wait to see this, this is gonna be amazing!
rusamene: gimme some Miles Davis bio , shieeeeeeee
dee rasta: went to see Ray and Whats love got to do with it on opening day. both
movies delved into enough of what shaped the protagonists and the
relationships that molded them. the acting was undeniable and the music
that made them famous only added to the thrill of it all. Besides that,
the storyline kept you interested and forced you to care about what was
going to happen next to these people.
movies like get on up, why do fools fall in love (about Frankie lymon) and
a couple of others did the opposite for me. 10 minutes in I knew I
wouldn't be satisfied and would have no desire to revisit as I have Ray &
The lead actor in get on up did fine and the music made you want to jump
out of your seat & dance but the storyline was choppy, lacked in the area
of relationship building or really caring one way or the other about what
was going to happen.. it' was like a bunch of scenes thrown together to
make an abstract movie with a sound track as its backdrop. if you know
anything about james or not, you can follow it but again, 10 minutes in you
almost don't care.
I don't get the feeling that the creators cared much about a great story
line, but more so being the first to throw out a biopic about Mr Brown.
They were probably hoping to get similar results as ray. not going to
happen & if it does it will be undeserving.
Fans of Mr Brown will like it because of the music & the guy who does the
role justice but I can't see any other reason than that and I can't see it
doing as well as Ray. word of mouth sometimes is everything.
De'Sean Rouse: +Norma Brown
Mark Shaner: Good God!!
GonnaBeProo: Music 0:22 please! :)
Henry Cooper: U can't go wrong on this film...thankfully I wasn't disappointed
earthtone Lyrix: they just make these movies so they can make more money off of our deceased
black american legends.... smh movie be looking the same for the most
part... but this movie had to be the worst... never again
MS. ILBB: meh... I may watch it... James Brown also used to beat on women, hopefully
they show this! He used to come by my grandmother's place a lot (not in
that sense lol), he and her hubby were good friends.
PLwhyduck: Music from 0;40 please
thalia88beachbabe: they should cast bruno mars
Strugglebuggie TV: THIS MOVIE SUCKED !!!
i just saw it last sunday, and i walked out before the end...
adrinusky: Song at 2:25??????
Veeluv Franklin: This movie is outstanding, went to see it today, this guy did his thing
channeling James Brown, he played a great role. This movie is a must see, I
recommend it to every1 that loved James Brown!!
P90X490104: I really enjoyed the movie and the lead actor did a good job in portraying
James Brown. Seeing the film made me want to go and research not James
Brown, but Bobby Byrd and how they really met. It was interesting reading
just to find out how much of an influence Bobby Byrd actually had in the
recordings of James Brown. Read about Bobby Byrd on Waikaepaedia and get
the real truth. James Brown had the stage presence, that it persona but if
not for Bobby Bryd not only discovering James, but being the influence
behind most of his hits (without the recognition), we may never have heard
of James Brown; one interesting note I found out was that the Gospel
Starlighters actually changed their name to The Flames prior to James
joining the group and it also tells how they actually met. I realize movies
take liberties to change facts around, but it makes me want to see just how
close the movie was to the truth, never the less, a really enjoyable movie.
If Jamie can get an Oscar for his portrayal of Ray, why not Chad; a
performance filled with a lot of energy in my opinion. In closing, check
out the story of Bobby Bryd.
Michael Ralston: while this will more than likely be a great film, it reminds me too much of
philip green: kiss myself
Kim .Fuller: He seems legit, but Jamie Foxx would've been a good actor for this movie
jeanette impia: Get On Up Official Trailer #1 (2014) - James Brown Biography HD Get On Up
Official Trailer #1 (2014) - James Brown Biography HD Coming Aug 1 to
kelyaum: This movie should be better then Ray Charles's movie but I think the actor
doesn't really fit as it fitted Ray Charles with Jaimey Foxx but whatever
there's a JB movie
Blu-Ray Brandon: No matter how good films are people still crap on them, without backing
what they say. In the comment section
thewordkeeper: Hope they don't show the dancing in quick cuts. You know. Like those
martial arts movies where they do all those quick cuts and 30 different
angles of the same move to make you think they're moving real fast. When
you see Brown, Jackson and Lee (Bruce) you get a long continuous shot
(which Bruce Lee insisted upon) to let you know there is no splicing; it's
all them. When you see those fast edits you know someone messed up. So now
they have to show part of the move, fix it and quick cut from where they
Seems like they focused on how JB sounded rather than his moves in the
trailer. In fact I didn't see any of James Browns trademark moves. Maybe
Trailer #2 is better.
Alexej Woerlen: Song from 2:12???
Anders Andersen: where is black thought?
Deborah Brown: GROW UP LISTEN TO HIS MUSIC.........MY BROTHER AND SISTER ARE IN THEY EARLY
70'S AND LATE 60'S THIS IS WHAT THEY LISTEN TOO......I WAS IN GRADE
SCHOOL........REST IN PEACE!!!!!1
Taylor ZeroSixNineEight: All I have to say is... LAFAYETTE! <3
daniel carvalho silva: O MELHOR...SENSACIONAL....SEM PALAVRAS...PARABÉNS MICK JAGGER
Julien Saul: What the n'aime of the song at 0:45
