Mark Brunskill: do you want to see this? my sister does
Kingsherry: I love James Brown. All I need is a movie about Michael Jackson, Elvis and
the Beatles and I can die.
Mark Shaner: Good God!!
earthtone Lyrix: they just make these movies so they can make more money off of our deceased
black american legends.... smh movie be looking the same for the most
part... but this movie had to be the worst... never again
De'Sean Rouse: +Norma Brown
Sandra Frazier: I was blessed to have a speaking part in this movie, and I'm very excited
about this movie. It was an awesome experience being on a live set and all.
A round of applause goes out to Mrs. Tammy Smith and her staff. She is an
awesome woman to work with and for. Please go out and see "Get On Up" it's
a phenomenal movie!!!! Sandra
GTR King: What's the name of the song @1:49?? Not the original, the one that plays
right at that moment. It sounds slower & different.. I want that song! Lol
Kim .Fuller: He seems legit, but Jamie Foxx would've been a good actor for this movie
Michael Ralston: while this will more than likely be a great film, it reminds me too much of
Alex Ibarra: i hope its good like La Bamba the Ritchie Valens Biography with Lou Diamond
Phillips. that was a good ass movie. Cant say the same for The Buddy Holly
Kill3mallk3v: I am a biiiiig james brown fan I will wait in a snow storm to see this
movie. This was a long time coming for The Godfather of Soul. I hope this
movie is done and received well like how Ray was. We need A Marvin Gaye
movie Next not aliyah(oops spelled wrong!)and I meant no disrespect to her
and her great body of work but Marvin's movie is long overdue. The Jimi
Hendrix movie starring Andre 3000 is done and I hope that is good too!
Claude Lebel: Can't wait to see it.
M. HONEY: This is a great pick..the actor can play james brown
kevinmeagher55: we need to stop making EVERY african american biographical movie…Ali, Ray,
Jackie Robinson….just stop.
Jason Craig: I just saw this movie in theater literally like 30 mins ago
P90X490104: I really enjoyed the movie and the lead actor did a good job in portraying
James Brown. Seeing the film made me want to go and research not James
Brown, but Bobby Byrd and how they really met. It was interesting reading
just to find out how much of an influence Bobby Byrd actually had in the
recordings of James Brown. Read about Bobby Byrd on Waikaepaedia and get
the real truth. James Brown had the stage presence, that it persona but if
not for Bobby Bryd not only discovering James, but being the influence
behind most of his hits (without the recognition), we may never have heard
of James Brown; one interesting note I found out was that the Gospel
Starlighters actually changed their name to The Flames prior to James
joining the group and it also tells how they actually met. I realize movies
take liberties to change facts around, but it makes me want to see just how
close the movie was to the truth, never the less, a really enjoyable movie.
If Jamie can get an Oscar for his portrayal of Ray, why not Chad; a
performance filled with a lot of energy in my opinion. In closing, check
out the story of Bobby Bryd.
Ahmed Radwan: what a trailer
Alibek Atahanov: What's the name of the song at 2:12 ? It's quite hard to find :/
PigDestroyer0099: What's the name of the song that start at 2:25, please someone tell me.
Henry Cooper: U can't go wrong on this film...thankfully I wasn't disappointed
Lanikai07: Great movie and great cast. James Brown sure did deserve to make it to the
Damian Sandoval: R.I.P James Brown
Nicole Bennett: **Even my mom
Ayanna Foster: It was a very good movie. One thing missing, Funky Drummer. Other than
that, it kept my attention and was not hard to follow. Thumbs up.
Linda Matheny: I can hardly wait to see this!
JonathanDorikt: This movie is awesome id definitely recommend, great casting!
philip green: kiss myself
Telley Andress: this movie is great if u have not seen it u have to
GraphicsGaz: I feel good, I smell good, I make love good. Cocain is a hell ofa drug
Ebony Bryant: I saw this 3 days ago GREAT movie
thewordkeeper: Hope they don't show the dancing in quick cuts. You know. Like those
martial arts movies where they do all those quick cuts and 30 different
angles of the same move to make you think they're moving real fast. When
you see Brown, Jackson and Lee (Bruce) you get a long continuous shot
(which Bruce Lee insisted upon) to let you know there is no splicing; it's
all them. When you see those fast edits you know someone messed up. So now
they have to show part of the move, fix it and quick cut from where they
Seems like they focused on how JB sounded rather than his moves in the
trailer. In fact I didn't see any of James Browns trademark moves. Maybe
Trailer #2 is better.
Strugglebuggie TV: THIS MOVIE SUCKED !!!
i just saw it last sunday, and i walked out before the end...
John Hernandez: awesome... they should do one of MJ
rubymcfadden: This movie is the bomb!
Run_With_Scissors: 0:25 - 0:26 anyone knows the song?
dee rasta: went to see Ray and Whats love got to do with it on opening day. both
movies delved into enough of what shaped the protagonists and the
relationships that molded them. the acting was undeniable and the music
that made them famous only added to the thrill of it all. Besides that,
the storyline kept you interested and forced you to care about what was
going to happen next to these people.
movies like get on up, why do fools fall in love (about Frankie lymon) and
a couple of others did the opposite for me. 10 minutes in I knew I
wouldn't be satisfied and would have no desire to revisit as I have Ray &
The lead actor in get on up did fine and the music made you want to jump
out of your seat & dance but the storyline was choppy, lacked in the area
of relationship building or really caring one way or the other about what
was going to happen.. it' was like a bunch of scenes thrown together to
make an abstract movie with a sound track as its backdrop. if you know
anything about james or not, you can follow it but again, 10 minutes in you
almost don't care.
I don't get the feeling that the creators cared much about a great story
line, but more so being the first to throw out a biopic about Mr Brown.
They were probably hoping to get similar results as ray. not going to
happen & if it does it will be undeserving.
Fans of Mr Brown will like it because of the music & the guy who does the
role justice but I can't see any other reason than that and I can't see it
doing as well as Ray. word of mouth sometimes is everything.
Veeluv Franklin: This movie is outstanding, went to see it today, this guy did his thing
channeling James Brown, he played a great role. This movie is a must see, I
recommend it to every1 that loved James Brown!!
Perry Black: would someone share with me the song that starts
jayjaylen75: I went to see this last night on opening day. It was excellent. Im 39 and
remember James Brown well especially his concerts...Chadwick nailed him.
Lila Thompson: I saw it and its an amazing movie
curtis jones: Everyone -James Brown was not just a entertainer he truly cared about the
Black Community and tried his best to help in the struggle-RIP James Brown
Apple Fukk: If those pickleheads play that boring remixed trash in the movie im walking
DMONEY1309: There more white motherfreaker then black Biograph
daniel carvalho silva: O MELHOR...SENSACIONAL....SEM PALAVRAS...PARABÉNS MICK JAGGER
Frederik Andreasen: What's that remix of "I Feel Good" called?
gouldaire .: micheal jackson biopic the greatest child molester of all time
MS. ILBB: meh... I may watch it... James Brown also used to beat on women, hopefully
they show this! He used to come by my grandmother's place a lot (not in
that sense lol), he and her hubby were good friends.
Anders Andersen: where is black thought?
spankyrigor johnson: this and the upcoming Miles Davis biography starring Don Cheadle will be
worth the wait!!!
