SMG010: with me it happend after i installed the new gpu driver update 2 weeks ago.
black screen with white vertical lines. i tried reflowing, then i got some
red lines instead of white and then a minute later it turned white again. i
didnt use a hot air gun as show on this video but a hairdryer. i do have a
hot air gun in the basement but my question is do i set the hot air gun on
250 degrees celcius and hold 15 cm away? or put it on 300c and hold 15 cm
away? i dont have a thermometer :(
Julio Cuellar: So much crap for something simple. Retart.
Alex K: I did a reflow because was getting some lines in the bottom of screen after
done that now is not showing video display.
What should I do ? help
joshua rostron: can this be done on a HP G6000?
atopete100: Not lifetime only few weeks..the best is reballing......dont make me
dkto3311: What Measuring (Multimeter) did you use? What Type of Temperatur Bead-Probe?
Amrik Singh: best idea
Owen Evans: i tried this and now my pc is black screen and since today wont turn on at
MisterT3a: a real reflow is needed, not this crap ...
Warren Purcell: I have yet to try this method-have watched lots of different ideas/ways to
attempt a [not often permanent] temporary fix-one question, where did you
get the heat range graph software, I presume, from? Can you post the link
to this graph? Thanks.
TopOracle.com: Your video is great! I followed your steps exactly and got my DV9740 video
to function again. I'll see how long it holds up. After cleaning the dust
out thoroughly and placing a large shim between the chip and heat-sink it
may run cooler and hold up better than when it was OEM.
efthimis terpos: It just work only one day and then it has problem again ,,, please give me
Julio Cuellar: Hairblow your girls hair. You'll probably do better.
atopete100: This metod damege video chip...this is temporary fix....
dkto3311: By the Way: Nice Nixie-Tubes.
Julio Cuellar: didn't see when you took the bad chip and replaced it with good one. video
stinks. music worse. sorry!
dkto3311: Can you tell the mane of the multimeter?
Gediminas Valunas: Great stuff, i got a laptop for free, was going to get brought to repair
will try it my sell definetly. Thank you, for sharing wideo
Milierkovic: How do you see what solder joints are cracked u use a microscope?
prestigionr: what r u talking about? He doing it good. i repairing this chips with
reflow too and my notebooks work for 9 months after reflow. problem is bad
cooling after few years, not the bad joint after reflow.
Crux161: What kind of thermocouple attachment did you use?
Verlengstekker: Doesnt fix for long.. i had several dv9000... but all in max 14 days, same
fail.. graphics again dead, reballing works better but takes a lot of time,
best way is to buy a refurbished 75 euro mainboard from ebay they are
refurbished by HP, and works like new :)
AydiinnnWazzaa: the red lines indicates that the lcd cable or connector is bad
alexandersan21: plung an external monitor and if the problem remains then its the graphic
card u will need to reflow it
subterraa: whats the name of the tune at the start of the video ???
Marios Voglis: ναι φιλε καλυτερα στο φουρνο θα τ βρει απο μονο του τ προβλημα εκει
Todor Nikolov: In some cases, maybe, but in most cases, I've seen, only gpu replacement
fix the problem. We try to reball many 6150, 8400, 8600 IC's + copper shim
and AC ceramique grease, but they work for a few days and blow off. Only
replacing with a new, 2011 and later maniactured IC fix the problem for
long time. If you want, you can share your opinion at P.M.. Thanks.
SickOFUndead: @ todor you solution is about if you have dead GPU.. and it will cost min
200+euro(MINIMUUUUUUU) that you will be able to buy new motherboard or get
more money to buy new pc. @mixassp - the solution is working only if your
clue get weak and dust and those s... there ! THATS MEEN YOUR GPU IS ok and
no need to replace it... Got it mr. todor?????????? and for both solutions
you take the risk , not u but the customer as anw your MB will fail soon or
later and todor ! yeas i am a computer engineer
mayferx: Not work or work a few weeks , the only solution is reballing, do not waste
Илья Лутков: ебанаты
purpleravenstar: Ditch the lead-free solder balls!!! Throw them away, chuck it in the bin!
God I hate them. That's what causing all them cracked solder joints.
NieldaGeek: I just do the same trick and... BIG FAIL ! Maybe too hot, maybe my mistake
of letting the heatsink attachment behind the gpu, but several resistors
and capacitors were detached behind the GPU to stick on the insulating
plastic from heatsink attachment. bye bye dv7
Omar TheKHALIFA: Jennifer is funny asking for part number. Use google thats all. If this
works then people please stop complaining. It's cheap and advance tech.
thanks dude for sharing it
voon100: The oven method is not a bad idea either. I'd repaired my laptop this way
and added extra copper shims to the GPU and the processor. It worked so
far. Hope it lasts.
rafamigayt: I've done a successful repair using this method and indeed, it works. But
what's with the red background? What does it mean?

proceso de reflow casero a una MB Biostar G31-M7. Excelente video. Gracias.
Mathias Johansen: 1:09. No need for that heating gun, the DV9000 will take care of the
overheating itself just by being powered on.
Farao: ı trıed thıs wıth my HP dv5 laptop.. ı used an haırdryer for 4 mın and

sgfreak96: Hi I just did this for the second time (did it a few months back last year)
and now it turns on and immediately back off? Does anyone know whats
required to hook up for the test run??
Paul YUL-IFODE: is yours a multimeter and a thermocouple measurment device in one?
mixospp: You should not use a hairdryer, this can't get enough hot for reflow. You
should try with a "paint removal" hot air gun. Hope this help.
Dimitry Koroboff: niice. wish i had seen this video before reflowing mine with a mini torch
and a super expensive lazer thermometer like an idiot. which didnt help for
too long so ended up having to throw it in the oven haha. heat gun and
thermocouple thingies would have made it much easier lol
Metakrom: I've used this method on 4 different dv series and it works just fine the
first one I fixed 2 years ago is still working besides who is gonna pay 300
-700 dollars for a reballing on an old outdated dv series when for that
money you can buy an i3 or i5? Todor Nikolov likes suckers who dish out
money is what it is!
techkitsune: "v" No, it is not. Speaking as a former HP repair tech, re-balling the GPU
and then fixing the thermal module with a proper copper shim totally solves
the problem of the GPU getting too hot and de-soldering itself. Now, the
other problems that HP laptops have.... well it's still all on the fault of
the engineers. Preheating the bottom of the motherboard is a BAD idea, as
the DV9000 logic boards have components right on the bottom side of the
GPU. They like to fall off.
