cain hashimoto: the 2 holes would be for a return spring?
davow8: Nice job. clearly explained. Have you ever tried to apply some lubrication (dry lube) to the rear slides?
john james: fantastic, just got car and 1st time i try roof it gets stuck , did this and all working great. dont get that much sun in the UK but nice to open and close the roof when dee rain comes down.
J.R. Olivero: Unfortunately saw this too late. I paid BMW $360 to close and disable my roof. They say my motors aren't working and that I need to spend $2,800 to get it repaired. Any suggestions? Thanks.
David Xu: Thank you for the clear instruction! really saved me so much pain for booking and going to the dealership!
Tiare Rush: I am going to try this. But, This means you can never open it again, right?! LOL
Elder pier: thank you, that fixed my problem.
Daniel Egbers: Thank you so much. My mechanic said he didn't have the tools to do this fix. I think I'll send him a flat head screwdriver!
getyourcompanyonline.today: looks like the runner needs a little marine lube :>)
Tyree Jessie: dude!!!...It worked. THANK YOU!!!
TheAnvil1971: Thanks, this helped a lot! Greetings from Germany.
Syed Muhamex: Thq very much
valetudo1976: Awesome video. Gonna go back into garage to try this on my 07 cooper s.
Tony Perez: that was very helpfull i have this problem in my car
truth jackson: Bravo
Johannes Jahnke: Brilliant, well-made video and very helpful. -Just one question before I try this on my X3 please: Is it a TEMPORARY or PERMANENT fix?
That is: Once I get the back-vent closed, will it again open (and stay open) if I use the normal vent-feature again? -or does this actually help bring back the mechanisms to their original state, in which the back-vent moves both up and down synchroniously together with the front-vent?
If the former: I suppose I should figure out a way to completely disable the back-vent entirely, to avoid it ever going up again? (how to?) If the latter: we should go have a few beers with the BMW-engineers who designed this.. ;-)
Wojtek Pietrusiewicz: Thank you. Managed to get the roof closed before a major storm! 🙂
Mukul Gupta: This has been very useful. Thanks ..I was able to close mine. A couple suggestions: 1- Add WD40 and the stuck roof slides really easy upon hammering 2- Disable the switch under the panel so that no one messes with the roof again by mistake! I will leave my sunroof closed from now on!
Mandi de Sousa: Thank you for this video I will try it on my x5 in the morning my back vent won't close, as a single mom I hope I manage on my own 🙄 because taking it into BMW to be sorted is not an option
